Cottonwood Properties was founded in 1976 with a purpose to invest in and develop quality real estate in the greater Tucson Area.
In addition to numerous apartment, retail and housing developments, Cottonwood Properties is the master developer of the 790 acre Westin La Paloma resort community in the central foothills of Tucson and developed the majority of the residential portion of the Rita Ranch community on 1,000 acres in Southern Tucson. Today, Cottonwood Properties is developing the 6,200 acre Dove Mountain community in Marana, Arizona. In addition to the many neighborhoods within Dove Mountain, Cottonwood is developing The Ritz-Carlton Resort, Residences and Golf Club – home to the Accenture Match Play World Golf Championships.
Our Team
Cottonwood Properties was founded by David Mehl and his late brother George Mehl. Today, Cottonwood Properties employs a team of talented individuals with a variety of backgrounds.

From the beginnings of Cottonwood Properties, our projects have worked because we have sought new ways to enhance the quality of life. Then, we have been diligent in applying those innovations in a practical manner. We have also prospered in associations with partners, investors and employees who care about the character of our work, as well as the consequent rewards.
